Settings save as you change them and apply straight away.

  • Automatic scanning moves by itself. The rate can be anything from 0.1 to 10 seconds per step, in 0.1 second steps. It needs one switch set to Select.
  • Manual scanning moves only when you press Next or Previous. It needs Select, Next and Previous.
  • Initial direction can be forward or reverse.
  • Pass limit: stop after 1, 2, 3, 5 passes, or never. The default is 3.

How menus and the keyboard are grouped:

  • Groups, then items: choose a group, then an item in it.
  • Rows, groups, then items: long rows of seven or more items are split into two to four groups first.
  • One item at a time.
  • After a selection: keep scanning, or wait for Select.
  • Start again from: the beginning, or where I selected.
  • Scanner colour: red, green, blue, yellow or white.
  • Highlight thickness: thin, standard or thick.
  • Panel size: small, medium or large.
  • Panels can move away from the pointer.

Different settings for menus and the keyboard

Section titled “Different settings for menus and the keyboard”

Menus and the keyboard can each have their own movement, rate and pattern, or use the shared defaults. A reset returns them to the defaults.

Line speed, line-only or grid-then-line, grid size, and Auto select are on the point scanning page.

What each switch does on a press, hold actions and their interval, and the emergency stop are on Add a switch.
